What Does the Future Hold for Global Christianity, with Philip Jenkins
Philip Jenkins is author of "The Next Christendom: The Coming of Global Christianity," selected as the BYU Kennedy Center Book of the Semester for Fall 2006. Jenkins is the Distinguished Professor of History and Religious Studies at Pennsylvania State University. He is well-known for his commentaries on contemporary religious subjects and has written extensively on the globalization of Christianity. Also joining us in this interview is Cory Leonard, who serves as assistant director over Special Programs at the BYU Kennedy Center. Other titles Jenkins has authored are: "The New Anti-Catholicism: The Last Acceptable Prejudice" (in 2003); "Dream Catchers: How Mainstream America Discovered Native Spirituality" (2004), and "The New Faces of Christianity: Believing the Bible in the Global South" (2006).—Original airdate: 12/13/2006
