Triumph over Slavery
"Lest We Forget: The Triumph over Slavery" is an exhibit presented by The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture of the New York Public Library. The exhibit and associated Website argue that the heroic actions of enslaved Africans have bestowed a lasting legacy of victory over oppression...a legacy of success that has shaped not only the past, but our present society. We're talking to Dr. Howard Dodson, a leading specialist in African-American history, noted lecturer, educator, and consultant. He is the director of The Schomburg Center and also the curator for "The Triumph over Slavery" exhibit.
