Women's Security and State Security
A study strongly suggests that a nation's attitude toward its women directly affects that country's foreign policy and national security. The study reports that in nations where women don't enjoy equality or fair treatment, the nation suffers poor relations with its neighbors and scores low in national security. We’re speaking with Valerie Hudson (BYU Dept. of Political Science) and Chad Emmett (BYU Dept. of Geography) about the compelling correlation and presents some concrete examples of the mistreatment of women.—Original airdate: 6/29/2009
