Thinking Aloud
An American in Paris: BYU Scholar at the Sorbonne
In 1951, Gene Kelly and Leslie Carron starred in "An American in Paris," the story of a struggling painter who finds adventure in the "the city of lights." In this interview, Thinking Aloud takes us to a very different Paris, with Daryl Lee. Lee is a Yale-trained faculty member in the department of French and Italian at BYU. He'll be sharing some of his own experiences as an American in Paris, where he recently presented some of his scholarship at the famed Sorbonne. He may not have been seeking adventure, but he got it. And although he wasn't dancing, we understand he was nimble on his feet. We'll ask him to tell his own story.—Original airdate: 9/18/2006
